Naperville Park District Board petition packets available Aug. 21

Potential candidates for the 2027 Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners election will soon be able to pick up their petition packets. 

Packet pick-up times

Packet pick-up begins Friday, Aug. 21, at the Park District Administration Building at 320 W. Jackson Ave, according to a press release by the Naperville Park District. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Positions on the ballot

The three positions currently held by Commissioners Chris Jacks, Rich Janor and John Risvold are set to expire in April and will be the open slots on the upcoming ballot.

Newly-elected commissioners are to serve four-year terms.

Candidate requirements

Interested candidates must have been Naperville Park District residents for at least a year before April 6, 2027, and be registered voters.

The park district notes that individual candidates are responsible for complying with the legal requirements for candidacy and are encouraged to meet with an attorney before circulating petitions.

Petition circulation dates

Park commissioner candidates can start circulating nominating petitions Aug. 25, and file nomination papers Nov. 16-20.
