Singing for Seniors 20th Anniversary

Singing for Seniors is a “can’t miss” tradition on the fall calendar and this year marks the 20th anniversary of entertaining Naperville-area seniors. Although this is the final year, this toe-tapping, 90-minute musical review delights audiences with a wide range of established and up-and-coming talent from the Chicago area and across the country. This year, Hannah Klose was the recipient of the 2019 Singing for Seniors Performance Scholarship. The performance is dedicated to thanking area seniors for their contributions to our community.

About the Organization

Gary Leavenworth’s love of music inspired him to create an afternoon of free entertainment. Because many seniors live on fixed incomes, presenting the entertainment at no cost has always been an important part of the Singing for Seniors mission. Gary also wanted to ensure any senior in Naperville who wanted to attend would be able to do so. That’s why the committee decided to offer free transportation to all seniors in need. With the help of additional volunteers, all who request transportation are given rides to and from the event.
