Naperville council candidates increasing — D203, IPSD 204 leaders in race
The growing list of candidates running for Naperville City Council in the April 2027 election now includes four people with a background serving on local school boards.
These include Kristine Gericke and Marc Willensky, both currently representing Naperville School District 203; and, from Indian Prairie School District 204, current board president Laurie Donahue, and former member Supna Jain, who was appointed to her council seat last fall.

Construction continues across IPSD 204 as first day of class nears
After a summer of heavy construction across Indian Prairie School District 204, it’s all hands on deck for the days leading up to the first bell ring on Monday, August 17.
Superintendent John Price said hundreds of construction crew workers and dozens of subcontractors are hard at work on projects across the district’s three high schools, with upgrades at some middle and elementary schools also included in the summer refresh

Dumont Creamery & Cafe opens first Illinois store in Naperville
Naperville is getting the first taste of a new ice cream shop and cafe in Illinois.
Dumont Creamery & Cafe opened its Block 59 location on Friday, August 7, offering up coffee, pastries, boba and ice cream with a global mix of flavors.

Naperville teen advancing to Civics Bee Nationals
A Naperville teen will represent Illinois in this year’s National Civics Bee after placing first at the state competition late last month.
Astha Savalia beat 14 other qualifiers from across the state to become the Illinois champion during the July 31 contest in Springfield.
