Downtown Streetscape Input

The City of Naperville is inviting the public to share input for the Downtown Streetscape Project improvements. The Transportation, Engineering, and Development Group (TED), will host two sessions on Wednesday, September 4 from 7-10 a.m. and 4-7 p.m. to gather feedback from interested residents. The Downtown Streetscape Project was presented to Naperville City Council in May and aims to improve accessibility, walkability, and safety in the area.

Greene Farm Barn Race

Around 150 race-goers laced up their running shoes for the Rooted Acoustic Barn Raising 5K and One Mile Dash. The race was put on by the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County in order to raise money for the Greene Farm Barn, which served as the finish line for the race. The forest preserve has been deciding what to do with the barn after it spent $1.1 million stabilizing the structure in 2012.

A Naperville resident recently was elected Senior Vice Commander of the Department of Illinois, American Legion. Wayne Fischer is a past commander of Naperville Post 43 and is also a member of the VFW and Naperville Responds for Veterans.
