Baby Boomer Exhibit at Naper Settlement

A new exhibit is now open at Naper Settlement that captures a generation.

The Boomer List made its first Midwest stop in Naperville, as a travelling exhibit featuring portraits of inspirational Americans born in the “baby boomer” generation.

“I think some of the people in the gallery you will know. Most people know who Samuel L. Jackson is or Billy Joel, but not everybody knows some of the other ones. Erin Brockovich doesn’t look like Julia Roberts but is an extremely important person. You have historians, you have playwrights, you have authors, actors, musicians, Vietnam War veterans, an AIDS activist, artists. It’s just an amazing array of people that had an impact on our culture. And to see them in such a setting to portray part of who they are through a portrait is pretty amazing,” explained Lance Tawzer, the director of innovation and experience at Naper Settlement.

The other half of the gallery is more interactive with a scent box, touchscreen photos, and a timeline marking milestones from 1946 to 1964.

Award-winning photographer Timothy Greenfield sanders created the exhibit.

The Boomer List is open from January 18 through March 16.
