The gowns were flowing and the caps were flying as District 203 celebrated commencement ceremonies for their newest graduates.

Despite rainy conditions earlier in the day, the weather cleared up for a beautiful evening as the graduates crossed the stage.

Speeches, pageantry, and music marked the occasion at North.

“We spent four years together and now we are all here sitting on the football field waiting for our names to be called so we can walk across the stage and receive our diploma,” said Nathan Warwick, one of North’s Commencement speakers. “We are here for much more than that. These past four years we’ve each learned the value of friendship and how the most bizarre situations can turn a random group of people into a family.”

That togetherness was on display as the seniors gathered for one final ‘skol’ chant after the ceremony came to a close.

Naperville Central’s honors speaker stressed the importance of gratitude as they move on to the next chapter of their lives.

“Say thank you. By saying those two little words, you tell a person that you appreciate all that they have done for you. So use those two words as frequently as you can,” said Safa Habib, a speaker at Central.

Both events were capped off with a fireworks display and music.

Congratulations graduates!
