For 30 years, Ribfest has been a food and fun-filled fundraiser by the Exchange Club of Naperville.

The club put on their Annual Allocation Committee Luncheon today, where many involved in 2016’s Ribfest were celebrated.

$1.9 million was raised from last year’s Ribfest. The funds go to the organizations and charities that work to prevent and eliminate child abuse and domestic violence.

“We had one of our best years ever at Ribfest this year,” said Bob Pschirrer, president of the Exchange Club of Naperville. “So as a result our local funding of our charities is up significantly, and that will be one of the topics we talk about today. Just thanking everybody for their participation and being here celebrating our charities and our hard work for the whole year.”

Many members of the organizations that received funds had the chance to thank the Exchange Club for all their hard work.

“All the club members love this luncheon opportunity because it reminds us what we do and why we do it, and it recharges our batteries to give another 110% commitment to having a successful event,” said Jennifer Cavalier, chairwoman of Ribfest 2016.

This year marks 30 years of fundraising for an important cause in an eventful way.
