The city of Naperville will have a special citywide brush collection in response to damage from Tuesday’s storms, the city said in a press release.
Groot collection of bundled yard waste
Beginning Monday, Aug. 17, Groot will collect bagged and bundled yard waste and brush on regular garbage and recycling days for two weeks, until regular collection resumes on Aug. 31. The city said bagged and bundled yard waste must still adhere to Groot’s collection guidelines.
Yard stickers will not be required during these two weeks but will be again starting Aug. 31.
Loose debris collection by Public Works
In addition, Naperville Public Works crews will do a one-time pass through neighborhoods to collect loose brush and tree debris, starting on Monday, Aug. 17. Loose, unbundled brush and tree debris can be placed in front of homes by 6 a.m.
A map showing which areas have been completed will be updated each day by 5 p.m. The city will announce when all areas have been cleared.
Any remaining debris after crews have passed through should be bagged and bundled according to Groot’s guidelines for regular collection days.
Residents can view a list of important dates for the special collection online, and sign up for brush collection notifications through Naper Notify. Downed trees, flooding or other similar concerns can be reported to the Public Works Request Center.
