The Naperville Jaycees recently hosted their 40th annual Distinguished Service Awards.

Eight businesses, individuals, and organizations were honored for making a positive impact in the community over the past year.

Those included Emy Trotz for public employee, Sun Kwok for community leader, Dr. Leona Di Amore for healthcare professional, Jack Mayor for student volunteer, Stephanie Jurkiw for educator, the Alive Center for non-profit organization, and Dog Patch Pet and Feed for business.

“This is something we really do to benefit the entire Naperville community. It elevates those kind of unsung heroes and gives them a moment to really be honored for what they’ve been doing. And nobody ever wants the award because they’re always for humble but I feel like they still need to be honored anyway,” explained Internal Vice President of the Naperville Jaycees Miranda Barfuss.

The Charles “Chuck” Bueche Lifetime Achievement Award was given to the Naperville Memorial Day Parade Committee.
