Local high school students had an ‘infinite’ amount of fun celebrating Pi Day.
Waubonsie Valley High School recently held its annual Pi Day fundraiser.
Students were able to vote for a teacher to be pied in the face by donating to the Matt Laurich Senior Scholarship Fund.
“It’s a way to get kids involved. It’s just something fun for Pi Day, and it also is for a good cause,” said Jason Mead, a math teacher and basketball coach at Waubonsie.
Each math teacher at the school had their picture placed on a donation jar, and students raised $135.
The two teachers with the most money raised, along with the teacher with the least money raised, headed to the atrium on March 14 aka Pi Day, to get shaving ‘creamed’ in the face.
“I’ve been here for two years and this is my second year getting pied, so either I’m loved or hated or both, I don’t know,” added Mead.
