District 203’s Board of Education is starting to set improvement plans for the future.
At their most recent meeting, the board was presented a follow up on its Capital Improvement Plan for the 2017 – 2018 fiscal year.
Project concepts include upgrading science labs at Naperville North High School and starting the next phase of the learning commons project, which has yet to give a budget.
“We’re starting to get a grasp of that because this past year we did our first learning commons renovations, so we’re getting a rough idea of it,” said Chief Financial Officer for District 203, Marcy Boyan. “But not knowing the buildings yet, it’s making it challenging to estimate what we need for that.”
Other improvement projects focus on maintenance, electrical, and mechanical repairs or upgrades.
Construction on these projects would take place during summer 2018.
The District 203 Board of Education will need to take action on this plan at its next meeting, on October 16.
