Neuqua Valley tipping off the Wheaton Warrenville South Tiger Classic behind a pair of 6’8 stars, Kevin Kauling and Jeremy Cardenas. Addison Trail looking to pull off the upset against the Wildcats, who finished as the state runner up last season.

Early in the first set, Cardenas and Kauling playing the two man game as Cardenas slams home the point, Neuqua up 7-6.

Later in the first set, Kevin Kauling showing his incredible wingspan at the net, the Blazers return his first kill attempt, but Kauling isn’t deterred and powers home the point to extend the lead.

Midway through the first set, Addison Trail trying to stay close as Giany Patano with the touch shot over the net for the point, cutting the lead to one.

Neuqua with the serve, the Addison Trail return floats too far and Cardenas gets up and blocks the ball at the net down for a point, 20-14 NV.

Set point as Justin Werderitch serves for the Blazers, Kauling bumps the ball up to Ryan McGladdery with the kill to take the opening game 25-16.

Early in the 2nd set, the Wildcats have a return ready as Kauling sets up Gabe Scharosch for a well placed kill, Neuqua up 4-2.

Later in the set, Jacob Dix serves, Addison Trail sends it back over. Tom Blankschein controls it over to Kauling, who gets one of his 20 assits on another kill from Jeremy Cardenas.

Blazers not going away quietly, trailing 14-16, Nico Nasti with the ace that handcuffs the Wildcats, Addison trail down one.

The Wildcats able to answer with an ace a few points later as Gabe Scharosch puts this one home, 19-16 NV.

Neuqua ready to put this one away, Addison Trail does a nice job to dig out the first kill attempt, but Kevin Kauling drops the hammer, one of four kills for the setter. Neuqua picks up win number one on the year with a two set win 25-16, 25-23.
