We join lacrosse for an early season non-conference game between Benet Academy and Naperville Central. Both teams are looking for their first win of the season.

Game tied at 1s in the first, Ethan Camba wins the faceoff and heads in on the attack… from their the Redwings work like a well oiled machine for Hunter Randolph to get the goal. BA up 2-1.

Some more crisp passing for the Redwings as Brendan Wall hits Kevin Lorenzl and he snipes it top shel for the goal. Benet with the 4-1 lead with 746 left in the first.

256 left in the first.. Benet drawing Central into the back field. Cameron Randolph hits Alex Panozzo cutting towards the net and he slams home his second goal of the game. 7-1 Benet now.

Seconds ticking down in the first quarter, The redwings give Jake Stegman all the space he wants in the middle of the field and he launches a missile into the back of the net. Central ends the first trailing 7-3.

Jumping right into the second quarter… 8 seconds in to be precise, the Redings head in on a fast break. Ethan Stonis has a shot saved but he quickly gathers the rebound and scores. Benet up 5.

11 minutes left in the second, Kyle Bollman takes the ball from behind the net and hits Ethan Stonis, knocking on the doorstep for the goal. 9-3 redwings.

8 minutes left until the break, Hunter Randolph takes the ball from behind the net, kicks it out to Cameron Randolph and he fires it into the back of the net for his 2nd goal of the game. Benet leads 13-5 walking in to the locker room.

Into the third, Jake Stegman fights off a couple defenders and then smokes one into the back of the net. He finishes with 8 points on the night 3 of those goals… Redhawks trailing by 7.

Central trying to make the comeback. They win the face off and work quickly. Stegman hits Max Feudo and he bounces the shot into the net, now only down 6.

Redwings win one of their 20 faceoffs on the night. Kevin Lorenzl twirls by a pair of defenders and heads in on the fast break… we’ve seen this before. He hits Stonie in front of the goal, he nets his 5th goal, 14-7.

Benet really just putting the game on cruise control, Lorenzl makes a nice move by a defender to create open space, this time he doesn’t set up a teammate, he takes it himself, burying his 2nd goal of the game and Redwings pick up their first win 17-8.
