We head over to Hoffman Estates for the Boys Gymnastics state finals. Neuqua’s Michael Baren is back on the matt from last year and is joined by a few other Naperville flipsters.

High Bar

And we start with the sophomore one the high bar. He works up momentum and flips around gracefully before continuing his routine. For the dismount, he rocks out a double lay out to help him place 4th with a 9.3.

Vault

Now over to vault with Huskie Michael Hunter Junior. He goes down the run way and sticks a perfect lay out off the apparatus for a 9.2 finish for 8th place.

Still Rings

Back with Baren on the rings. He shows off his strength, flexibility and balance as he holds each move on a very tough event. For the exit, a double back tuck for an 8.15 score.

We stick to the rings with Lyons Julian Campbell. Midway through his routine and he still has strength and balance to hold this extension and then perform a double buck tuck that makes the crowd cheer for a 9.4 and second place on the podium.

Parallel Bars

Another Neuqua individual, Tyler Clark on the parallel bars for his first time at boys gymnastics state. He executes his routine pretty nicely, holding all of his skills with perfectly pointed toes. The dismount hold a half twist for Taylor to finish with an 9.35 score

First ever male gymnastics from Metea Valley Freshman Zach Taylor at state on the parallel bars. He holds a handstand for quite some time showing his all of his skills! For his dismount, a double back tuck with a touch down but no worries, first time at state and he finishes with an 8.9

Pommel Horse

We finish with Michael Baren on the pommel horse. Great fluidity and cadence on this apparatus and then he almost stops and extends for the handstand before the dismount. He lets out a sigh of relief with a 9.2 score, placing third on the podium.
