It’s senior night at Canlan Ice Sports as the Neuqua Valley Wildcats take on the undefeated Warriors Hockey Club. The Warriors took the last contest 7-1 when these two faced off back in November. This highlight is sponsored by BMO Harris Bank.
Two Minutes in and the Wildcats are off and running as Trenton Fisks shot is saved but picking up the rebound is Rocco Romita and he scores to give Neuqua the early 1-0 lead.
Not long after that the Warriors are looking for a response as Caden Cast goes back door to Theo Wnek as his shot draws iron. Still 1-0 Wildcats.
Three minutes left to go in the 1st period now as a bad turn over by Neuqua goes straight to Matt Dickinson who shoots and scores glove side tying this game up at one.
Second period now as Dickinson carries the puck over the blue line and he backhand passes it off to Ryan Burk who fires off the post and in for the goal. It’s 2-1 Warriors.
A couple of minutes later and Neuqua is on the power play however a long range pass by Garrett Clamage finds Theo Wnek on the breakaway but Aidan Wysoglad soaks it up to stop the threat.
Warriors feeding off the momentum as Matt Edwards has two good looks on net but his rebound is picked up and shot by Ian Altekruse to give the Warriors a 3-1 lead.
Not even a minute later and the Warriors have a two on zero as Grady Blessing and Ryan Burk play a perfectly executed give and go and it results in Blessing finding the back of the net. It’s 4-1 Green and Gold.
Two minutes later and the Warriors aren’t slowing down as Wnek backhands a pass into the middle and Caden Cast has an easy tap in goal to make it 5-1.
Final minute of the second period and the Warriors are looking for another goal as Ian Altekruse finds Ryan Burk who back doors the shot and gives the Warriors a 6-1 lead.
Four minutes into the third as Caden Cast walks into the left circle and fires a low shot that slides by Wysoglad that extends the Warrior lead to 7-1.
