Naperville North and Naperville Central competing in the best of the west final. The Redhawks come in to the game undefeated while Naperville North is 2-2-2 on the year and defeated Benet Academy earlier in the day to play tonight.
First Half
First good look for Naperville North comes with 15 minutes left in the first. A huskie gets the header but Redhawk Caden Redpath makes the diving stop to keep the board empty.
Second Half
Into the second have and North with another chance with over 30 minutes to play. Ali Khorfan wrangles in the loose ball and sends the bender to the net and it bounces in for the huskies to go up 1-nil.
Central looking to even it up with 14 minutes left to play. Redhawk Benny Tietjen from 20 yards out boots one to the net… he just stands and watches as it goes in to tie the game at 1s.
Still tied with one minute left to play… and then a penalty is called in the box on Naperville Central. Zack Smith gets the nod for the PK and it soars in to the net to put North up 2-1 and to win the best of the west championship.
