Metea Valley hosting senior night has Ethan Helwig putting on a show for the final home game as they host 204 rival Neuqua Valley.
Early in the first, John Poulakidas hits a cutting Mark Gronowski and he knocks down the jumper. Wildcats lead 4-3.
430 left in the first. Jackson Tan hits Ethan Helwig for the catch and shoot 3 pointer. Just the start of a monter night for number 15. Mustangs up 9-7.

Clock ticking down in the first. Neuqua’s Patrick Hoffman drives and scores at the buzzer. Wildcats trail by 2 at the end of the first.
Neuqua’s Connor Davis opens up the 2nd quarter by hitting a big three. 19-18 but at the half, Neuqua leads 32-21.
Into the third, Ethan Helwig drains a three and is foulred. He converts the four point play, Mustangs up 37-32.
5:11 left to play in the third, Stentwali Malls drives and hits Connor Davis in the corner. He then drives and scores. Wildcats trail by just 1.
2:10 left in the third now, Metea’s Manny Hess gives a screen for Helwig but then Helwig hits hess for the bucket. Metea pushing their lead 46-41.
Third quarter winding down, Earnest Neal heads in on the fast break and hits Jens Petersen for the 2 handed slam. Metea leads 50-48 at the end of three.
The battle continues into the fourth. Neuqua opening it up on a roll Connor Davis hits Hank Peler for 3, Neuqua leads by one.
Metea up by 2 now.. Neuqua’s Patrick Hoffman drives and hits Donovan Navarro who sinks the 3 with a man in his face. Neuqua now leads 56-55.
3:22 left in the game and the mustangs lose track of Connor Davis… Sentwali Nalls hits him for the easy bucket. Davis with a team high 27 points as Neuqua leads 60-59.
Final minute and mustangs get aggressive as Neuqua tries to run out the clock. Mark Gronoskiw lays one in for the dagger to seal and deal and Neuqua leaves the Mustang gym with a W.
