It’s been a bit of a struggle this season for both Waubonsie and Metea. Both teams enter play 0 and 3 in conference and with a sub 500 record.
First Set
Waubonsie leading in the first set, Waubonsie’s Mark Bailey sets up Stan LaGuerre for the kill. Waubonsie up 3-1 but that lead doesn’t last long.
Metea up now 6-3 and Ryan Owens back at the line serves up an ace that goes well out of play.
After a 13 and 1 run for the mustangs, Brandon Long continues it as he sets up Alex Gaertner for the kill, 15-4.
Metea looking to close the first set out now, Ben Schwieger has a kill attempt dug out and then Brandon Long sets up Ryan Owens for the big kill. Metea wins 25-9.
Second Set
Second set and Metea still on a roll. Ryan Own with the thunderous ace, mustangs up 3-1.
Waubonsie looking to stop the bleeding and get back on track. Brandon Long sets up Gaertner for the kill but it gets blocked and the mustangs have to reset. Then Mark Bailey assits Schwieger for the kill, warriors down 3.
Few points later and we get a crazy rally waubonsie’s Mark Bailey sets up Stan LaGuerre for the kill but it gets blocked. Eventually TJ Steffgan gets ahold of the ball and slams it over for the kill. Metea leading 18-13.
Metea would handle the rest of the game from there. Alec Gaertner gets over the net and gets a big time slam to push Metea to a victory over their rvials 25-9, 25-18.
