Waubonsie Valley takes on Metea Valley in Girls Golf at Orchard Valley in the first DVC dual of the fall season, where Emily Skowronski dominates.

First match of the year and it takes place at the beautiful course at Orchard Valley. Metea with a new head coach, Brad Lange, as his Mutangs battle with Emily Skowronski and the Warriors.

11th Hole

Speaking of… let’s start on the 11th hole. The two teams playing on the back nine for the afternoon. Here’s Skowrownski lining up a put from eight feet away… and drains it. Birdie-ing the hole.

12th Hole

Moving on to the 12th, which is a 122 yard par 3. Metea’s Jessica Leibfritz from the tee box… watches as her shot lands on the green and rolls softly off. From there, she nearly drills it in, but will tap in from there and settle for the par.

Staying on the 12th and now it’s Waubonsie’s Aisha Iyengar taking aim at the green. And the lefty likes what she sees as she lands below the hole – 30 feet away from the cup. And she’ll take a big swing, roll it up the hill and also gets it close enough for a par, finishes with a 9-over round.

17th Hole

Fast forwarding to the 17th, Skowronski back on the prowl. Hunting down another par three, this one is from 130 yards away. And that is how close she gets it! Can’t convert the birdie, though, but does finish with a one-under 35 scorecard.

Same hole and Metea’s Heidi Gabriel follows that up with a nice tee shot of her own. She’s 15 feet away… but puts it to within just a few inches. Converts the par and finishes with the second lowest round for a Mustang.

18th Hole

To the final hole… and Waubonsie’s Kate Libby standing over her ball on the right side of the green. Comes up just short, but her round of 48 helps the Warriors walk off the course with a win. 183 to 207.
