West Aurora Girls Golf Regional 10.10.19

Blackberry Oaks in Bristol is home to the West Aurora girls golf regional with nine teams fighting for a spot in next week’s Sandburg Sectional.

Metea Valley’s top performer on the day is Ashley Hallissey, she just misses this long putt for par and taps it home from there. Hallissey finishes her round only three shots shy of qualifying for the sectional.

10th Hole

10th hole and Waubonsie Valley senior Emily Skowronski nearly holes out for birdie from just off the green. That leaves an easy par putt as the Warrior senior shoots an impressive 78, the 2nd best individual score in the regional.

11th Hole

The par 5 11th hole is a daunting one with tough hole placement, Benet junior Reagan Rodenbostel gets this par to fall. The Redwing is the best individual performer on the day with a round of 76.

In what is easily the putt of the day, Downers Grove South senior Alina Brinzda curls the ball around the hole and gets it to roll back into the cup for par. An incredible shot, told you the 11th hole was tricky. Brinzda moves on to sectionals with an 83.

12th Hole

The 12th hole is a par three but another challenging one over the water. Emma Lim is pleased to knock down this putt for par. The DVC champ leads Naperville Central with an 80 on the day.

16th Hole

16th hole and Central senior Neha Vinesh gets a friendly roll on a tricky putt. Naperville Central ends the day tied for 2nd with Benet Academy with a 352 team score, advancing both teams on to sectionals.

Naperville North’s Hannah Martin taps in for birdie on 16, before dapping up Neha Vinesh after a successful hole for the friendly rivals. Martin leads North with a 79.

18th Hole

18th hole and Emma Lin gets a putt to fall, she puts up an 87, one of the top ten scores on the day as the Huskies are in great shape to bring home another regional title.

Emma Kirvan with one of the best rounds in the regional and she ends on a high note with a great putt for birdie, she’s loving it as her score of 81 helps Naperville North secure the West Aurora regional plaque. The Huskies advance along with Central and Benet, while Emily Skowornski gets through as an individual.
