Illinois Miss Amazing is so much more than a weekend event. It is a platform for girls (5 years old +) and women with disabilities to share their abilities and ambitions with friends, family, and the community.
It is an experience that inspires all people to empower themselves and each other. By encouraging its participants to dream big and reach their full potential, Illinois Miss Amazing aims to show that the world is a much better place when the talents and ambitions of all people are celebrated and valued.
The 2019 event will take place on April 5-6 at the Naperville Yellow Box. The event is reflective of a traditional pageant and there are eight different age categories for participants to sign up for:
- Rising Star – 5-9 years old
- Preteen – 10-12 years old
- Jr. Teen – 13-15 years old
- Teen – 16-19 years old
- Jr. Miss – 20-23 years old
- Miss – 24-27 years old
- Sr. Miss – 28-35 years old
- Shooting Star – 36+ years old
Participants ages 10-34 participate in all activities offered with Miss Amazing, including ice-breaker activities, a one-on-one interview, personal introduction, presentation in evening wear, and optional Talent Showcase. All participants are crowned as princesses and will receive a trophy. One participant from each age division is chosen to represent her age group and state as a Miss Amazing Queen at the National Miss Amazing event.
