NILA hosts interfaith solidarity event at Benedictine University
Over 100 people gathered at a solidary event presented by the Naperville Interfaith Leaders Association (NILA) on Sunday afternoon.
The event took place at Benedictine University, where seven different faith leaders and numerous public officials gathered to denounce hate.
The original impetus for the assembly was a recent report of an alleged burning of a copy of the Quran in Naperville. But since then, more eruptions of violence in the Middle East and the brutal murder of a six-year-old Palestinian Muslim boy in Plainfield caused the event to expand to include new incidents.
The group believes gathering together like this is proof that another world is possible.
NCTV17 captured the entire presentation and it will be available on our website later today.
