Naperville City Council considering ban on retail sale of kratom
The City of Naperville is considering banning the sale of kratom at all retail establishments within the municipality, based on a recent ordinance proposal.
The city council had a first reading of the ordinance, with wide-ranging comments, at a recent meeting, and directed to have it return for further deliberation on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Micro-unit apartment development planned at former Naperville commuter parking site
A new micro-unit apartment project within Naperville could take root at the current site of a parking lot that in the past functioned as a place for commuters to park.
The city’s Planning and Zoning Commission on Wednesday reviewed the project details, which include 65 units, and forwarded on a favorable recommendation to the decision-making city council.
New Naperville International Festival coming Sept. 12
A new celebration highlighting cultural connections is coming to Naperville next month. The Naperville International Festival will take place Sept. 12 at Central Park.
The event, hosted by the Sister Cities Foundation, is an expansion of the city’s Hispanic Heritage Festival, inviting a broader range of cultural representation.

YouTube personality, actress, singer, and now author Trisha Paytas is making a stop in Naperville this November on the tour for her new memoir, “Crying on the Kitchen Floor.”
She’ll be appearing at North Central College’s Pfeiffer Hall at an event hosted by Anderson’s Bookshop.
